Losers Paradise

I actually love this event and loved last years as well. I'm a huge Superhero buff, so it's right up my alley.

And with still other "Superhero" stuff yet to be released, they could do a part 3

Characters
--------------
The Human Fly with Skyscrapper
Avery Mann
Chocobots Leader
Senator Mendoza
Alice Glick with Glick House
The Abonimable Dr. Lenny
Senor Ding Dong with Doorbell Fiesta Truck

Buildings
------------
Zenith City Power Plant
Ginormous Pictures
Springfield Copy Shop
Springfield Construction Yard
Drunkenstein's

Skins
--------
Everyman
The Rambler
Early Bird
The Iron Lung
Hot Flash
Cupcake Kid

Lets get something straight. This is a recycled event. This recycled event is another LONG GRIND for 40 days almost immediately after a long 40 day grind. Lets also be clear that again, this event was poorly thought out as evidenced by the poor math relative to crafting science water and the obvious oversight with the battles being incentivized for losers. On that note, why would I need to use bandaids and science water when I NEVER have a need to use them? The timers dont even coincide with the expected gain for using them. I would literally be healing up my bench for the sake of what? I have to wait 4 hours to fight 3 more battles...

And then throw in a ton of wonky meh prizes and an event landing zone that fits nowhere with the rest of the graphics existing in the game.

Glad for the next generation of tappers that missed out but come on EA you could have rereleased the stuff people missed out on as a mini event and thrown us a few new awesome premiums and social prizes and called it a day.

Please please consider quality over quantity and come up with a better way to reintroduce things without alienating those who have been supporting the cause for a long long time now.

And sorry to those that immediately have gotten offend that this is not praise for EA post but I have an opinion too and like to voice my displeasure in an appropriate venue.

While I'm not terribly fond of the Tap Ball fights, the Superheroes event was widely popular and there were a lot of superheroes that were left out the first time. People were complaining about the ones left out (like Clobbergirl), and they had definitely left it open for a sequel, so it makes sense that they'd bring about a "round two".

There are some weak points to the event, and you raise some valid points, but I'd hardly call the prizes "meh." 8 new characters and 4 new skins. And plenty of new buildings and decorations - maybe nothing jaw-dropping, but most are quite decent.

I have been fairly vocal about the multi-stage, drawn-out events that they've taken to releasing, so I'm with you on that. Of course, since there won't be any new levels, constant events and mini-events are pretty much what we can expect to be getting from here on out. I suspect EA's not going to let things ever stay quiet for long.
  • I would agree about the long grinding events becoming overwhelming in succession, but they need to keep players involved after a week or so of downtime. The good thing is that the event is so long that you can take some time off and still be able to return on schedule. That is, for us older players that have last year's stuff, but I suppose we've already done our long grind last year.

As for the quality of the content, I disagree. The mechanics are similar to previous and thus familiar to players, many interesting characters (even though I know none of them), a fun fighting minigame with rpg classes, and great content.
My Springfield is quite urban and dense, so I need buildings rather than low-density RCI zones (I am recovering simcity addict, four years sober).
The back alley landing zone is a tad bit oversized, but it visually is perfect for my city. I immediately bought that Publishings building, and I look forward to the upcoming Zenith City condo and office towers.
I'm not sure how the Aqua World works though, but it might look great in my industrial port area, we need a good harbor anyway. Possibly in another event.
  • They've added how many new buildings, characters and skins? Even for a recycled event an old player is still going to get more new and fresh content out of this one than they did the wild west.

And yes it is a long event, but unlike the wild west, between the bonut rounds and the fighting, at least there's something to do between acts. It's not going to be another event of three 5 to 6 day periods of waiting like the last long one, so at least they tried to improve that. I'd much rather be battling, leveling up superheroes and collecting donuts than just smashing bandits and waiting like before.

That said, they really need someone on staff who tests and plays the expansions because their numbers are waaaay off this time.

I should get the final act 1 prize today, leaving 7 days of collecting donuts. It was way too easy to get those prizes even without using the losing exploit and those that really took advantage of it finished up days ago.

I'm pretty sure I'll have Burns' mansion finished by the end of act 1. If it was meant to last the whole event, it's falling way short.

On the flip side - unless they make changes soon, only a few of us will actually get the top social prize. At least 50% of my friends list has already missed the very tight window of needed fights to hit the final prize.

I'm pretty sure we're going to see panic on the boards next week over not being able to craft everything. A good number of people aren't going to be able to craft all the act 1 crafting prizes.

Overall I am really enjoying the event but I will fully agree that their math was way off on this one. It's like riding in a car with one tire twice as large as it should be and one tire half the size of what it should be.

Let's get something REALLY straight: this is a game. If your opinion of it is dissatisfaction, you do not have to play it. No one holds any obligation to meet your expectations, regardless of how high or low you choose to hold them.

We all have opinions. We CHOOSE to express them.
We all make choices. Please consider those which foster contentment. Good luck!

When you said, "losers" I thought you meant the strategy of "losing" battles to get more knuckles.

You need to pay attention to the threads, this isn't a grind. I'll be done with Act One today by playing the normal amount of times I would have anyways.

You can do it too! :-)

You're very brave posting this on the forum - it is not an especially friendly place when it comes to criticism of this game, or indeed of EA, their beloved overlord. I should know; I created a similar post during the Wild West event called "This event is terrible." and people did not respond kindly... Expect a lot of "if you don't like it don't play", " it's just a game, get over it" and (if you mention that you're a freemium player) "thanks for leeching off the money of other people who actually support EA". People seem to think that their criticism of your criticism is somehow more valid than the original criticism itself. They seem to fail to realise that theirs is just another in a long list of opinions, but talk as if they are speaking gospel and have the final word.

It may come across that way and there may be a small portion who could think like that. Sorry you were responded to harshly. If you check out the amount of complaint threads, some of us just get tired of hearing complaints. From time to time those who are typically quite polite and helpful just get sick of it.

Very well said. I don't understand complaining about events. If you don't like a event you are not required to play it just play as if no event was going on. But when a thread is titled something like losers paradise you are asking for a flame war and please don't complain when it happens
Take a break if you are not enjoying the game or tap on and have fun :)

Definitely this. It's not going to be perfect, but personally I like the balance between rereleased items and new content. Plus I haven't been bored yet with all the different prizes to work towards (social, etc.).

I've said it before: everyone is welcome to their opinions on a public forum. Both those who have an opinion and those who respond to it. Most here are very friendly, but Nissa is right: those who frequent the forum get tired of the complaints. It brings the whole forum down.

I'll even admit, I'm not crazy about some areas of the event (i.e. the tap ball mechanics) but I think it's got a lot going for it.

i don't mind this Superhero 2 update but if they're gonna rehash levels it should of been the Stonecutters first.

EA has already re-released the Stonecutters stuff. Plus, while there's a lot of returning stuff, there is a ton of new content, and gameplay is significantly different, so it's hardly a rehash.
