Also, a bit off topic, but I've been meaning to ask you Direwolf...is your name a Grateful Dead or Game of Thrones reference (or neither)? Just curious.
Grateful Dead. I've never seen Game of Thrones. I've heard great things about it and will most likely watch it in a couple years.
Cool. I'm a huge deadhead (hence my username) so I had to ask. I won't give any spoilers but there are Dire Wolf references in GoT as well...it always cracks me up when they mention it.TheGuardian wrote:
Is George RR Martin a Deadhead? Following a long trail of subtle hints, many loyal fans have wondered about the authors implied fondness for the jam band and his admiration for the Grateful Dead has now been confirmed by the author.
The Games of Thrones creator told an audience that he was certainly a fan of the Grateful Dead in a recent interview, and said he has their lyrics in his head all the time.
References to the band have been littered throughout his career: the Dead songs Dire Wolf, Cassidy and Dark Star appear in his work, while he is said to call his home Terrapin Station.
I have Grateful Dead lyrics rattling around in my head all the time, he said, when questioned about the references. Ripple is one of my favourite songs of all time ...There is a road, no simple highway.
He added that his wife, Paris, is perhaps more of a fan of the Grateful Dead than I am, and went on to say that the band influenced his rocknroll novel The Armageddon Rag. According to Billboard, the Weirwood trees in Game of Thrones are named after guitarist Bob Weir.
Big Deadhead here as well. I wish I could go to one (or all!) of the upcoming Fare Thee Well shows. Oh well, the 60 times I saw them before Jerry moved on will have to do.
Edit: I don't have the 24 hour task either. - I do not have this task either. I did not realize I was actually missing anything until I saw a post on here mentioning this glitch. I thought that maybe Dr. Monroe was either like Helen Lovejoy who does not have a 24 hour task or possibly did not have a 24 hour task unless you purchased his tombstone. I have not purchased his tombstone and thought maybe it unlocked the 24 hour task. If this task was visual it would bother me more. Now it is an annoyance, especially when you are setting all or most of your characters on 24 hr tasks. Hopefully this will be fixed with a future update.
I cannot make it to the GD family reunion shows this summer either, but would love to watch the web casts I can find. The tickets are too expensive for me, and it is hard for me to take off an extended amount of work during the next few months. Can't wait to listen to the sets. - Has anyone tried selling the Walk-in Therapy Stand and buying a new one yet? Does that activate the 24hr task?
- My Monroe does not have a 24hr task, only 20hr. I didn't realize there was supposed to be one?
Details? wadebear wrote:
This has been discussed before. Apparently whether or not you got it depends on when you bought the Walk-in Therapy Stand. I purchased it immediately and don't have the 24 hour task.
Shoulda looked this up first...
From another website: The Prove He is Alive 24 hour task will only show if if the player did not have the Walk-in Therapy Stand while starting The Ungrateful Dead Pt. 7 from his story line. All who had the Walk-in Therapy Stand do not have the 24h job.
So we get penalized for buying stuff?
:?- AnnathewickedRising TravelerTheres a 24 hour task? dang EA!
- anaquarindNew SpectatorHas anyone tried putting in a ticket with EA? Just wondering if it is worthwhile for me to do so, I would really like that 24 hour task
- I have both Dr. Monroe's 20-hr and 24-hr tasks (in addition to all the other tasks).
I did not buy the Walk-In Therapy Stand right away. In fact, I bought it well after completing the storyline. (Pretty sure I did not know of any problems at the time. I just got lucky.)
I did not buy the gravestone at all.
Even though I have the 24-hr task, I rarely use it. The 20-hr task is much more entertaining to me, and worth losing a few bucks. I have my therapy stand in the middle of the Squidport. While Dr. Monroe babbles to himself, Wolfcastle is standing adjacent, looking at his "shoelaces", and the Human Statue and other NPCs and full characters often wander into the crazies scene (like the Capitol City Goofball and Ms. Hoover singing and dancing). I am easily amused. durarararara wrote:

I love Game of Thrones! If you're in the U.S. and have an iOS device, you can download the HBO Now app and get the first month free. I binge-watched all 4 seasons. Season 5 finale this Sunday! 8)
I have never watched Game of Thrones, but that seems like quite a binge, lol. How many episodes are there per season, 12 like most of the other HBO series? And are they an hour or half hour long, an hour I would assume. And HBO shows are actually an hour long, or relatively close to it, unlike most other network shows being 42 minutes because of commercials. I used to watch every single series that HBO released. The Sopranos was so good, and that just carried over to several other shows. Deadwood, Carnivale, Six Feet Under, Rome, and especially the Wire. Damn the Wire was soooo good. But then for awhile I went without any cable or satelitte TV at all, hence my lack of HBO viewership recently. But I was super excited to hear they were offering a stand alone service, without getting the full TV subscription. I may need to check this out.direwolf987 wrote:

My bad. This is my first poll. I didn't realize the first option was the question
And now everyone who voted has to vote again
5775 post and this is your first poll? I'm kinda shocked by that
