Players have been reporting that sometimes the elves don't register. If there is a Max it is at least 23 (4 at the start 19 from tunnels) but there is a glitch which doesn't add elves once earnedJust so you know it might be worth your while to check again because when I got an elf through the daily bonus and initially it didn't add but after returning from krustyland it added

Same happened to me last night. Seems you have to sync your town by leaving (friend visit, KL, log out and back in) to have the elf show occasionally.

I had 19, and just completed tunnel 14. The new elf has not been added. Already have closed the game, reopened it. Gone to neighbors & KL with still no new elf.

I've been in a chat with EA for some time now and she had me check my inventory. There were two elves there! I don't know if she put them there during our attempts to fix the problem, or they were there all along and I just didn't know. The elves were at the very end of my inventory list.

On 12/14 I noticed I was missing an elf. I contacted EA support (via Chat) and the Rep was able to add that elf to my inventory. It did take a little convincing, at first they said to wait a day and see if it appeared, when I told them I had been missing the elf for at least that long already, and I'd lose even more gifts waiting another day, they relented and added the elf immediately.

Since then I have watched very closely when awarded an elf and have missed no more. I currently have 24 (expect to get 25 after today's tunnel, in a couple hours).
