Most generous event yet (donuts)

It definitely feels like I've gotten a ton of donuts this event.

-- I've hit the 30 donut UFO prize twice.
-- I got the bonus for answering the Schmoo question correctly.
-- I've gotten donuts from at least 6 treat bags (and probably closer to 10-12 bags).
-- I've gotten a reasonable number from friend Rigellian taps.
-- I hit the Sideshow You 5 donut bonus.
-- I even got a donut from cleaning up Springfield junk.

I still haven't finished the quest line yet, so I still have at least 20 to get. The Subatomic Supercollider has been paid for, and this at least makes the Drive-In Theater a little bit less expensive.

Yeah, I've picked up about 10 during the event.... Lovely

I totally agree with you, I started playing TSTO on December 19, 2012, just with a few days left of the
Christmas event, I got about 150 donuts, the Mapple Store for free, couple of Christmas trees.
And I did the exact same thing you did, wasted a ton of donuts on Budas.
But since it was a pretty new successful game and EA had no idea how big this game was becoming
(Also no idea of what they were doing) it was really easy to make a ton of donuts during the first events.

Absolutely agree, OP!!! EA has been extremely generous with the free donuts - I have gotten UFO donuts more than once, several from bags, quest donuts and friendship action donuts (plus about 9 donuts from leveling up). It is a wonderful gift from EA. If there is a dev reading this thread, thanks!

It's also a smart move on their part. It leaves people happy. People then put the donuts back into the game, and many end up buying more donuts because they feel EA is giving something back to them.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could trade our gummy bears for the other crafting stuff (candy corn, Choco bars, fences, rotten eggs)? I have an insane amount of gummy bears too.

I think all the free donuts are great, but everything that cost donuts has been steadily creeping up so it's almost like we're not getting anything for free, just helps justify purchasing over priced pixles.

You make an excellent point, John.

I could be wrong but if memory serves me correctly in the olden days of the game I don't think anything costed much more than 150 donuts and that was for a building and a charecter. Any other old time players want to back me up ( or correct me if I remembering wrong?)

Yes the price for premium content has gone up a lot, and looks like they will keep
increasing them. I used to be a completionist but when they released the whale
that was the line for me, I would never pay 300 donuts for it. Now I choose what
to buy.

I have made a pretty nice haul during this event in free donuts, I suppose. But I have also spent over 1,000 because of all the re released items and new items. So it balances out in EA's favor. My tally of donuts during the event so far is:

10 from the Schmoo trivia question
10 from the Drive In quest with Krusty
12 from Bonus XP level ups
30 from shooting down a UFO once so far
8 from opening gift bags
32 from neighbor visits

102 total

I still haven't finished the quest for 20 additional donuts. But after the XP reset with the most recent update from 1.5 million down, I leveled up twice right after that happened, for 6 donuts, and then another time later that day, so 9 from that change. I was almost up to 1.5 million when it happened, so maybe that is what I would have earned anyway. Seems like a decent haul, but I have read of several other people shooting down the UFO many more times. In regards to events, I thought that last year's Halloween or Xmas 2012 were the best donut wise.
