I think the story of that notification going off during a funeral is still top of the list.
Wait did that actually happen!? :lol:AJtheboss1 wrote:

Has anyone confirmed this really happened? Closest on the forum was someone saying they heard that it happened:

What the OP said in that thread happened to me once too. I didn't have the reaction he had, but it still startled me!- I've been startled by Homer and Ralph at 2 AM, I thought someone was trying to break in or were already in the house- ran from the room in underwear with a 2x4 trying to find the person
turned out it was just my sister's game going off because she didn't know what notifications were  efin98 wrote:

I swear I saw an account of this happening shortly after I joined the forum, but I can't find it. I'd say perhaps I imagined it, but if other people are saying they saw the story... I'm so confused :?- The funeral and wedding stories are hard to beat. I wonder if anyone's had it go off in court.
Worst for me was when it went off while I was giving a lecture to a class. They're not supposed to know I play games. - I cant really recall any where inappropriate where Homer has come out with anything, but I do get people turning round in queues when he shouts out the phone :) Only once has someone turned round and said to me...."Is that a text alert or do you play simpsons tapped out?" Obviously i said i played the game

The post in the link is dated a few weeks after you joined, so that could be the very post you are thinking of...Mopurglar wrote:

Don't want to be the "cool" professor? - I play with notifications switched off so I've avoided awkward situations but my dad on the other hand wasn't so lucky. He had that horrific scream notification from halloween go off in a meeting.
Before he switched it off, that scream used to wake the whole house up at night
