heights does not display higher, cash does...it is incorrect, but once you go back below the threshold it should show the positive amount $2b

it is subtracting because for whatever reason when it went above it put negative, when you add to a negative it goes towards 0

In computing 2,147,483,647 is the maximum positive value for a 32-bit signed binary integer and a lot of games are limited to this number. The limit for Springfield Heights is 2 Billion exactly so it may be related but not directly.

exactly, this is where he is hitting it for cash. spend enough to get below this should go back to positive. its not that you cant go higher, it just wont display correctly

for those mathematically curious 2^31=2147483648, minus 1 to get this number

For Springfield Heights update they'll split the prizes between 1 Billion to 2 Billion in my opinion because of the reason I mentioned above, unless they'll move to 64-bit where the maximum value is 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 - the same as YouTube had to do because of Gangnam Style.

I think you got a point there. My cash seemed to be still positive when it was 2.1 plus Billion. Then suddenly I noted a negative sign appeared. I am now -2.12 Billion

if/when you get back below 2,147,483,647 it will be positive again

maybe they could add some items worth buying with in-game cash instead of donuts.. the longer the game goes with mostly donut items, the more money people accumulate and the more likely this is to happen.

Land in SH would be a start. Price it high, allow people to build more and reduce their cash.

Or, extend the threshold? Same with the item limit.

It's almost as if they didn't anticipate the game going on this long :neutral:

i dont think it is that they did not anticipate it would go on this long, as another poster mentioned the $2b number is based on 32 bit systems, it is an issue known in the gaming world. i do not think most people accumulate this in game cash amount. once a person has achieved this point in the game, they typically will convert some of the cash into donuts through XP. I agree that there is not a lot of non-premium offerings in recent events. It is the nature in games like this that there will be a point where you goal is just to work on the design of your springfield when you have achieved what is equivalent to unlimited resources and have completed all current tasks. this is just an example where somebody accumulated more of a resource than they needed at a very high rate so it went beyond the game's numeric display limits...if EA had capped it people would have complained.

I got not enough time to convert my cash to donuts. But the money keep coming in. I am now at -2.11 B. The strange thing is that the reduction in magnitude of this figure is due to harvesting. I will see what happen when this goes below -2B. If it didn't revert back to positive, I may drop to zero very soon.

I remembered there was once a thread about how much cash you have and someone mentioned he has 2.5 B before. I am now feeling skeptical if that is possible.
