lightestbulb-Yes, that! I no longer feel intrinsically motivated as much as I did. And I fully own the stupidity of that feeling. :-)
Annettemarc-I am at a point where I don't need money and XP like I used to, but I enjoy visiting my neighbors anyway. If this game didn't have the visiting aspect I'd have been out of here months ago. I like to see what people are doing, and I like feeling like I'm making a difference, which is why I don't insist on "Level 38 Only" when I go looking for new neighbors. But, you're probably right and a lot of people are just in the other towns for the goodies.
As an update, info couldn't do it. I tried to knock off partway through my neighbors yesterday, and I had to go back and finish. I just did it grumpily. It helped to know I wasn't the only one who felt this way, and to know that there's an actual name for this phenomenon. Again, you all are the best! Thank you!
