Neighbours copying your design?

I had so little land left for all of the new buildings they have been releasing, so I went on the internet a couple days ago looking for inspirational designs for the Superior Squad HQ. I found one that I loooved that would be perfect...plus, it used so little land. So, I used it. It's not exactly the same as the person I "borrowed" it from, but very similar. Sometimes I like to post my screenshot images on Flickr, so I wanted to get online and find out what the screen name of the creator of the design that I "borrowed" from...so that I could give them the credit that they deserved. Anyway...I went searching for the image again and I found this discussion. LOL. The designer that I wanted to give credit to if I decided to post a screenshot on Flickr is...izabellatrix! When I first opened this game discussion by izabellatrix, my first thought was "Oh crap! She knows I copied her design and she is mad at me!" LOL. I was very relieved to learn that it doesn't bother you, izabellatrix. :) Thanks so much for such a great design idea and solution to a problem that I have been having with lack of land. You rock! :)

Repurposed decorations are my biggest temptation (snapdragon trees, railroad tracks, etc.), but except as temporary filler, I wouldn't copy a building design. That's not to say I'm above such things! Instead, I associate certain designs so closely with certain neighbors it would just be weird seeing those designs in my town. It makes visits more fun when I know I can see something unique, and I can't underestimate how big an influence neighbors have had on me as I struggle to find different ways of doing what they appear to do with ease.

I went with the flattery option because most of my neighbour's don't seem to mind when someone is inspired by their creativeness (they have actually said it)

I know BarryRiddl, Neuroheart, PinPal and JohnColumbo are constantly copying me... (Yah, I'm totally lying. They are total rock stars when it comes to design! I'm just average!)
