It does have that good old whiff of ennui that we have come to expect. I'm wondering whether this is an in-joke by the devs or animators, maybe the real Springfield of one someone they want to make fun of? :shock:

This makes me think of the beginning scene. Homer blows up the town by not paying attention, but the explosion was not strong enough to send buildings far. So they just plopped down in random places, looking disorganized and out of place. :lol:

Maybe the task to decorate Other Springfield is raffled off periodically to one of the Customer Service chat representatives. The winner gets to design the town. This one is fantasizing that the missiles are pointing at customers who've filed a ticket, and are currently on hold. It would explain why the forest is so sparsely populated with trees. If you enter the town and scroll around and take a look at what's in the line of fire from those missiles, it's the residential area. And beyond that is the Krusty Burger Oil Rig.

Lol psychopath! Thats great! See I interpret that as Frink and Scorpio stock piling weapons of mass destruction. It seems to be telling a story of their plot to blow up New Springfield but they invested in a poor launch vehicle (the cannon) and now are stuck with a huge waste of perfectly good donuts. They could have bought 3 whales and a billboard with all that! :D

I think someone in EA had his 3 year old that was really bored and let him/her redo the Other Springfield. It's the only valid explanation I can find for this horror town. :mrgreen:

Seriously though it was the most uninspired Springfield I've ever seen, aside from house farmers, and random building placers. I suppose designing a full on town isn't a priority of theirs, which is perfectly fine with me. :lol:
