I'm going to defend American food because I love my country, served it proudly.
There is nothing better than the food you can get in Louisiana. Crawfish ?touff?e, jambalaya, beignets...the list goes on and on. Then you head on up and get into the low country food of South Carolina. Can't miss all the amazing things they do with seafood up and down the coast. While we are on the coast, stop in on Florida and eat some amazing Cuban food.
Regional specialities everywhere. North Carolina barbeque is my favorite but some swear by Memphis barbeque.
I tend to cook mostly Cajun food but since I am half Cuban, I cook a lot of Cuban food as well. Tonight we are having Cuban black beans, rice, pork chops, and tostones (smashed/fried plantains).
I love the food here (by the way we call them eggs-in-a-basket and have them every Sunday morning).
