Destroy friends buildings and yes the task means you have to attack someone back that has attacked your town.

Earning coins:
Earning coins is done by either attacking other players buildings or by defending and repairing your own.
Once your castle has produced nerds, go to a neighbours springfield or tap on the attack button in the top right corner of your screen. Doing so will assign you to a random player his springfield.
Attacking
The more nerds you assign to one building, the quicker the building will be destroyed. Let's say you assign four and the building is destroyed in six hours, you'll get a notification that you earned XX Elixer and XX amount of gold. You do not have to keep tabs on who you attack. Results will always be announced by a popup in your town.
Defending
Other players will come to your town too. If the attack is still in progress, you can click the blue and yellow shield above the buildings to fight the enemy off. You will earn 20 Elixer and 10 golf per defended building.
If you are too late and your buildings lay in ruins, you can simply tap the repair icon floating above the building. It is the same icon when something has finished building. Repairing a destroyed building will only earn you half the gold and elixer that you would get from defending a building.
Cheaters
Cheaters are the red dice that randomly drop from attacking or defending. These can be used to conquer a building in one second without using nerds. In your own town, red dice can be used to eradicate every enemey and repair every building with just one tap.
