LOL, well, that is where the term comes from. Trolls didn't get the name due to their semblance to supernatural creatures; it's from their habit of "trolling" message board (or, back in the day, Usenet and BBS groups), trying to get people to "bite" at their "bait" (i.e. inflammatory comments).
