I know a lot of people are complaining about the situation, but honestly; is it too hard to look before you leap?

Apparently yes it is. This has been an issue here as long as I can remember.

@joerch108 ...there will still be updates. Just a slow year this year. Some of us thinks the lack of updates has to do with the recent layoffs back in February and EA is just sorting things out.
