Not enough content updates
It's good to take breaks away from the game, and 24hr tasks will do you the world of good when you're a little bit bored of it.

Considering the vast amount of content the game already has, and the fact lately we've gotten updates on average every two weeks, which is far more often than the vast majority of apps/games, I have to say I think the OP is flat out wrong. I also think they're missing the point of these mobile games in expecting long-term play from it. It's specifically designed to be played in short spurts once or twice a day (unless you're sending your characters on one-hour tasks all the time, but the story quests with each new level update often use 8, 12, and 24 hour tasks).
Also I gave Tiny Death Star a try and hated it. Much prefer Tapped Out.
