I agree that this would be a nice feature, but suspect that the on-line nature of the current version is so deeply integrated that it would be no trivial matter to change it.

I suspect that the only time that this could possibly happen is when they decide to close down the game and if they then allow us to still keep it on our own devices, apart from that I honestly can't see it happening.

Yes. Your entire progress is saved via online account. To be offline you need to have a savegame file in your phone for the progress to be saved.

I don't see this happening. The game is too online-dependent to exist in a vacuum in an "offline mode". You have the most important thing about this game; your EA/Origin profile. That needs to be always online for you to access the game.

Honestly, offline mode is sort of "in the game", if you logout of your profile and choose to play anonymously. :/ *shrugs*
