You won't get a lot of sympathy from this forum when it comes to EA. This is the Mecca for EA fanboys and girls, and I've never understood why. I think it is because most of the people on this forum don't have the past abused wife relationship that we console players have had with EA. It always cracks me up when people defend them, talking about how "they need to make money too". If they only knew. Most have no idea of the greed monster EA has been looooooong before TSTO was even an idea.
I mean EA was voted worst company in America for 2012. I will say that again, WORST company of 2012! While I don't agree that they are the worst, that says a lot that a video game company took that title. They've been giving their customers the shaft for years, and it's all because they've tapped (pun intended) into a great money making scheme, addiction.
Everyone will agree that this game is addicting, and EA knows it. Just like a junkie trying to get his next fix, people will pay anything for their precious doughnuts, and again, EA knows it. If someone could explain to me what EA's rational is for the prices on their doughnuts, I would love to hear it.
I just finished the single player of "The Last of Us" on PS3. I won't get into the details about how ridiculously amazing and moving the storyline and graphics of this game are. Let alone what it must have taken to program. That game cost me $60, and has an amazing online multiplayer mode, where I play and talk with friends all over the world (not visit their town with zero interaction). Again, $60. So please please please someone tell me how it isn't BLARINGLY obvious that EA has tapped into an addiction and is now price gouging people beyond anything I've ever seen in all my years of gaming. I know they are not the only ones to blame, as suckers...... I mean people are willing to pay for it, but it seems a little over the top to me, ESPECIALLY FOR A TABLET GAME! I know most on here will disagree with me, but please do a little research on your precious EA. Just be prepared to wake up in cold sweats of guilt when you realize who you've been defending screaming "The doughnuts aren't worth it!!!!!"
Edit: And by the way, almost all video games have exclusive content (usually in the form of preorders), but even that becomes available to everyone else at a later date. It is extremely rare that a video game has major content unavailable to people just because of the time they started playing the game. People need to drop the elitist "I was here first, so you can't have any" mentality around here. It's not the way it's done in video games, period.
That's just the current trend. There was plenty of complaining when I first started lurking and posting. A search of "EA worst company" will get you 7 pages of results.
