You could check out threads in the Showcase section. Is there something specific you have trouble with? Fill up your neighbour list and go sightseeing and get ideas from what they've done in their towns.

Many of us are suffering the same problem. I hope you get it worked out. I've given up on trying to design for now. So I'm just reassigning jobs to earn stuff. Maybe a miracle will occur to save us from this mayhem.
