the changes seemed to have put this board in the icu. Why anyone would want to intentionally kill something that had so much life and joy is beyond me. It's like taking a puppy and beating it to death with a hammer because he pees on the rug.
Why can't people just accept it for what it is. We had no problem here until this OT sub forum jargon. If you don't like what you see, don't join. I have been away for a few days, come back and this forum has completely changed, whats going on? If I could, id vote to return things back to how they were, this is rediculous, people getting personal attacks, not on. Sorry this is just how I see it and how I feel. Sorry if you think iam out of line.
I beg anyone who has any say or control to give this board CPR. You should of had an OT section ready and waiting before these changes were made. Jumping the gun has ruined this board for many people. I still have hope, but I know many who have given up.
The proof is in the posting. Can you honestly say this is better than before? Can you really stand by a decision that has alienated and divided a once thriving community? These are legitimate questions that need to be answered.
But the fact remains that OT-threads were the norm, and Simpsons-related threads far between. It is a question of a balance, and I understand why the mods wanted to atleast test this. I am sure they also understood they might lose some people, but given enough time, I'm sure the situation will sort itself out. Some people will always leave from a big community, and new people will arrive. Such is the life of an internet forum...FluidEmotion wrote:
Yes, you have a point, but when a decision causes this much outrage and a mass exodus then it should be re-examined. Just my opinion though. Besides this hasn't eliminated the same multiple new threads about dupe svt lemon trees etc. It didn't make anything easier to find. Well except a new post. I come on here and see tumbleweeds.TwiztidThorn wrote:

From my perspective, OT threads were not the norm. They were simply more popular. Topical threads would have been popular and seen more often, if people would check to see if there were already threads that were similar enough. There are just so many duplicate threads, and they all fade out quickly. I think the time mods spend rooting out OT threads would be much better spent, merging on-topic threads, which would make them look a lot more prominent, and you would see them on the first page a lot more often.
Twiz is right about the 2x SVT pages. There is literally no new information there. Every one of them should just be merged, because that is the kind of stuff that just bogs the forum down.HomerSwapMeet wrote:

I disagree with you about OT-threads not being the norm, but that is up in the air. But I do agree with you that the mods could, if they have the time, be more efficient in merging duplicate topics.
In regards to this I believe much would be better if we could have more topics on every page. Show more topics on each side, merge duplicate topics more often, and perhaps the existing OT-threads wouldn't seem as prominent...FluidEmotion wrote:

It's possible that I'm blanking on smaller threads that didn't get frequented all the time. Like lets say I made a thread about my new hamster, like "Hey guys check out my new hamster!"

That's nice, but I mean that kind of thing can be merged here, right? It won't last long. People will get tired of it soon. But instead of deleting it and never seeing it again, it will at least be archived in and OT area. And thats very different from a popular thread game, which y'know only counted for like 4-5 threads. I don't think the games ever posed a threat to anybody else, just because they were off topic.
But I mean hey, stuff is still being figured out. Maybe the subforum will happen, and things will go back to normal, in ideally a more organized fashion. Like I've been saying, there is totally a common ground to this. I just think merging threads is the right way to go, with the minimal understanding I have of being a mod. I can't imagine it takes more effort than watching out for OT threads to delete. Seems like that is more hassle than its worth.FluidEmotion wrote:

P.s never commented on this recent debacle about nothing but OT threads occur more often when an update dies down, guarantee when level 35 comes out or halloween update there will be no OT threads in sight, its just the fact of forums.
So when you cant talk anymore about the game you talk about anything else, until something new happens :) subii42 wrote:
