I have (almost) all the figures and sets from that line, never opened them, sitting in rubbermaid containers in my basement. I have "toyed" (pun intended) with the idea of opening the Kang and Kodos set, but have never actually gone through with it.
I think I gave up when I couldnt find the Deep Space Homer figure, I wanted that one more than any of the others. Plus I figure it probably looked weird to have a grown man hitting up the toy aisle at Toys R Us so often. ;)
Oh I couldn't help opening mine, specifically so I could display them all together. Also, when I got my first ones, the line had just started (an ex girlfriend bought me a Bart and Homer figure she found at--I think--a store at Universal Studios). I was a long time Simpsons fan and she knew I'd freak when I got them, which I did. Anyway I did a little research online about them and found out Series 2 had just been released, so I went to a few local stores over the next few weeks to pick up the remaining Series 1 and 2 figures I needed. I did that up until around Series 5, then realized I could just order them online or through EBay and probably save money on gas and lots of time. So I did that all the way through Series 16 (the last wave), and all the exclusive figures and sets. I only ended up getting 2 out of the 4 Treehouse of Horror sets since the others were just variant figures of main characters I already had. Kang and Kodos were my favorites, though. God those were awesome.
