OT- Any Megapolis players here?
My husband plays it, he's as addicted to it as we are this game. What's up? He's playing the Wii with the boy so I can ask him the question for you.

Purple stars (? did you mean stars and not starts?) = experience points
Land deeds = have to collect them for expansions (you need around 80 for your next land expansion)
Gifts = you don't have to but it gives them things for their builds and they should send them back to you in return. It means you won't have to spend tons of money for stuff/builds.
BTW - he doesn't like the game because you will get to the point where you cannot expand without spending real money. It takes forever to save up enough to expand, after awhile. But he still plays, he's addicted. He's just got a very squished together town.
