LOL funny.
It's cost us about 3K this year alone in lessons and equipment but it's worth it seeing his face light up and knowing he understands that feeling of working hard for something and then accomplishing it. Something he can use as an adult to help achieve goals.
Sorry for those who insist the forum should be game related only, sometimes we just want to go OT a bit.
Oh what's funny....he is very uncoordinated (part of a medical condition he has) and when he first said he wanted to do this "Mom, what if I can't drum and march at the same time?" It was a very real fear of his since he can't play sports for that reason (his limbs won't always do what he tells them to do like kick the ball or catch it). That's why he swims, golfs, and runs.
So we worked through it and he did it.- I wonder if we even have things like this in England... If so I will so be putting my boy in this in ten years or so!
- Its always nice to go OT everynow and then :D Change things up a little :D
ALthough im sure there must be a simpsons episode where they have a band playing like this??
Now theres a challenge lol Bet ya Waltercartman would fine it lol melodyhodge wrote:

Do it!!
It's so awesome.
Just search Fifes and Drums. They usually will take anybody, even those who don't know a thing about drumming or fifes. Our son was already in his school band so it made it easier for him, a little.
Not only do they get the recognition (it is a huge deal around here and the tourists love it) but they have scholarships to give out and many schools will put them in their bands (again, scholarships).
There is usually a waiting list, most people put their kids on it years in advance.lissarv68 wrote:

You don't have to already know how to play the instruments. They will teach you.- I'm definitely going to, that just looks so cool, you must be very proud of him.
