Is this a joke? You can't get the Shelbyville items without paying real money? That has to be their biggest scam yet for this game....not to mention why would I place Shelbyville items in Springfield ...

You don't think there's at least a chance they'll swap out these prizes at some point? If this tactic is successful, I can't imagine they won't want to try it again.
This is a little annoying, but I've gotten over it as well. They need to make money. I'll probably even drop $25 for the characters, as I was planning to drop them a few dollars in the Scratch-R's every once in a while just as a token of appreciation. May as well buy the donuts instead. If they ever do a character for $50 or $100, though, forget it.
