Possible help for event until EA fixes game.

Well... I tried quite a few things on this, left the game to run without touching it to see how long it lasts (it soon froze) and even contemplated nuking...
So anyway, I spent some time on this... managed to free all 200 or whatever characters I had in my walking Kwik-e-mart...
Long story short I found that as I manually tasked people back to it, it would freeze on certain characters, so whenever I got back in, I would store that particular character and move on...
I got to the point where I could go in and do the next stage of the event and currently on schedule to finish week 2, so that's all I am doing for now, I had about 3000 doughnuts, so am able to buy all the event items so far.. even managed to get time to buy a load of pastel fences which I never had the chance to get before...
For the record... I had stored
Nelson (Muntz House)
Barney (Bowlarama)
Mel (Krustylu Studios)
Carl (Springfield Buddhist Temple)
For some reason this triggered a task completion noise, but I have over 130 tasks in my book... so it could have been anything!
Dr. Hibbert (Hibbert Family Practice)
Legs (Fat Tony's Compound)
and standalones Bumblebee Man, Dr. Nick and Fat Tony ... at that point I had run out of time and haven't bothered to find more...
A note as well about the Insanity Cauldron... I stored that and it made the noise I hear on the splash screen just before I enter game, change to what sounds like a film reel playing a film... I have stored Googleplex, Aztec Theatre and Channel 6 to see if that changes anything there...
Also thrown Sky Finger monument because that was crashing it as well and Little Lisa's Recycling plant in for good measure..
And just because it helps me, I managed to move my Simpson's house to somewhere I have space to build so that I can place event buildings I might need, saves me trying to scroll to somewhere and have my game crash before I do
Just stored the IRS building and it seems to move a little quicker but still crashes...
I'm probably just gonna baby step the event and not bother about anything else and see what the next store update brings...
