I believe the recent price increase for some (non U.S.) users was due to exchange rate fluctuations rather than VAT. For example, in the U.S. a boatload is priced at 100 USD. They want to receive 100 USD regardless of what country the purchaser is located. Before the price increase, they would receive less than 100 USD in some countries due to the exchange rate. This results in a significant revenue decline. So prices were adjusted to account for the differences in exchange rates.
Im not an expert, but the math is easy. 100$ is 760NOK, add 25% and you will get 950NOK. So there is both VAT and updated exchangerate.
I'm not going to drag this any more, it gets more and more educational for my taste. Back to tapping and now conserving those donuts I have left.
