Running so slow!!!!!

I'm not very techno-savvy, but how does my cell phone have a better capacity than a tablet? This is in response to those people swearing the game lag is caused by 'older' devices. Also, I'm old and trying to squint to see the little itty bitty things on my cell phone screen is hard, that's why I prefer a tablet.
