It has been well documented that the mystery boxes aren't random, there are set patterns. But if you don't want a town full of vans and billboards that's reason enough to stop. EDIT:Actually, that is pretty favourable to be honest... but I'd prefer not to, hopefully there's still things that have a low price for a bigger bonus, such as the Christmas totem I pounced on in December

Well, eventually you will get those junk items from mystery box daily quests, so eventually that junk will land on your table.

Hopefully it will be rare and if it happens then c'est la vie...

I've been told that it is approximately 8 donuts = 1%

I had seen that around when I looked into it, but I prefer to have unique items than have more than I already need of vans and billboards, especially when doughnuts have been tight and spending six on what turns out to be a bomb shelter seems such a waste ..

It's quite a bit better than that - works out 7.84 donuts per 1% overall.

Mystery Boxes follow a fixed sequence of 98 prizes. If you buy an entire sequence then you get 12 x khlav kalash, 13 x pond, 12 x bomb shelter, 13 x 'onda, 8 x 10 donuts, 7 x 30 donuts, 12 x 1% billboard, 13 x 2% news van and 8 x lard lad. That costs 588 donuts but you get back 290 donuts in prizes, so the net is 298 donuts to pay for a 38% increase in multiplier (therefore 7.84 donuts per 1% as above).

There aren't many opportunities like the xmas totem, unfortunately; the best value decoration that you can buy from the store is the jet engine bike which yields 2% for 30 donuts. Lookout for rebates too - it had a 10 donuts rebate during an event sometime last year.

Ok cool. so the high ticket items are about 90% the yield of most of the smaller items (cobblestone walls excluded of course). Thought it was much lower, thanks for the correction.

Kind of... just to clarify. The 6 items listed (in order, Cobblestone Wall, Lady Justice Statue, Minnow Pond, Training Dummy, Volleyball Net and Weather Station) all have higher-than-normal xp returns per $ spent. The Bloodmobile, Rat Trap Truck, and almost everything else in the game including the Runway Lights and Plato Columns referred to in the previous posts have the same xp/$ ratio. So "most of the smaller items" fall under this category (hence you may as well do Rat Trap Trucks).

Then there are a number of items in the game which give poor xp/$ ratios, just steer clear of them!

BOTTOM LINE: Farm KEM's if you can, they offer the best xp/$ ratio by far. If you can't, then go with one of these 6 items if you can (although most go crazy trying due to the sheer numbers). Otherwise go with Rat Trap Trucks, there's no reason to pick anything else.

I don't have the math handy, but this looks pretty much spot-on to me, it's a bit under 8 donuts/1%.

Thank you for this, it's very insightful, I've only got 39 doughnuts at the minute and last one was a 30 doughnut box, so I wouldn't be ready to start down the mystery box route if I were to go that way, it is handy to know though and will give me food for thought...

As for the totem, I thought it would be rare, and at only 10D I couldn't click it fast enough...

At one point I was over 300 and i'm freemium, that was after i'd bought a lot of mystery boxes and got all the unique and a couple of the other items and had made other low level purchases (apart from the santa skin bundle) before I started getting into farming and all that, so I know it can be done over time..

Keep in mind that the Beach Hideaway is right now the best item that you can buy at 40 donuts for 20% it is an unprecedented deal, even though you have to upgrade all the items, and you can only buy 5 of them for 100%.

Also, you can jump on the flags - 50 donuts for 7.5% which is very very good, but you only have a few days left.

Four beach hideaways got and fully upgraded, I was thinking of the flags and dragons but fell foul of my unsuccessful quest for Brandine ... :flushed: :anguished:

it's 250 XP per light placed yes
vending machine is same. 3500$ -> 350XP
