shelbyville expansion to drop junk items you don't need

Why can't you just sell unwanted items, or leave them in your inventory? Or put them somewhere in your existing Springfield? Pretend it's Crackton, or something. Why would you ask them to create a whole new area just so you can dump your junk there? That doesn't make much sense. If they make a new area, it should be nice and useful.

Frankly, I don't see why they'd make Shelbyville. I signed on to make a Springfield, not a Shelbyville.
