Playing on a new Amazon Fire 8 and have had no problems. Baby Homer, is currently out growing his cuteness.
I hate to tell the Kindle users but as I learned during the Flanders event, older models were no longer being upgraded enough to support the tsto updates. It was sad because it's still a great little tablet but this was going to start happening with many of the apps and games running on it.
