I'm in Kuala Lumpur, about 4km away from the centre. We can see the skyscrapers such as the Petronas twin towers (once tallest buildings in the world) from our flat. They're currently building a new addition to the skyline which will be the second tallest building in the world when it is completed next year. It will be nearly half as tall again as the twin towers. I will see if I can edit in a pic later.



Yes, a very blurry one! The crane in the background is building it. The building in the foreground is the Ilham tower, next to my office. It has 60+ floors, and it is quite interesting to look at, whereas some of the buildings are boring or even ugly.

I know Melaka well because my wife's family is from there as we used to visit once a month as it's only a two hour drive - we like Jonker Street/Walk though it does get crowded at times. It might take a while to recover from the virus stuff. At weekends, particularly public holidays, lots of Singaporeans drive to Melaka. The locals complain about the resulting traffic, but really it's probably not that much of an impact!

I've been stuck in traffic on that causeway many times. Usually in a bus going north on a Friday, but a couple of times in a car going south.

Thank you. All is well here. Everything is still running as per normal. Just that now businesses are asked to implement social distancing. Things like queueing, sitting, people need be kept apart by 1 m.

In Singapore, majority of the people live in Government built public flats that look like this. It comes in various sizes and designs. At the bottom of the flat is a void deck that can be booked for various functions. These flats are supposedly priced fairly if you buy direct from the Government. And supposedly it can be used as an asset if you resell it later as resale prices can be high. However the guidelines to buy a flat directly is very pro family and you have to be married to get one. There are some guidelines for singles too but generally needs to be fairly old like 35 for singles to get a flat. Whether the flats are really an asset is a controversial topic as they are only on a lease of 99 years.

On normal days, some void decks are used for playing purposes, like tagging, blading, balls kicking. Though I kinda dislike balls kicking as it dirtied the walls. It is actually against the bye laws but no one enforces it.

In first week of Feb, Our Government gave each household four masks and urged us not to use it unless we are sick. Masks were hard to come by then. I think at the moment they are rather readily available.

This week the Investment arm of the Government, Temasek, has an initiative to give each household 500 ml of alcohol free santisier. We bring our own bottles to collect.

Each household use this pamphlet to go to the nearby community centre or shopping mall to collect the santisier. In the background a kind soul has provided a santisier in the lift of my flat. It was heartening that after two weeks, no one has taken it away and in fact, it was replenished once.

In Singapore flats, people dry the laundry by using bamboo poles and sticking it out of the kitchen windows

This is an upgrading programme going on to introduce bamboo racks. Because the bamboo holders could be a source of breeding grounds for mosquitos if the resident did not cover it up. Secondly, old bamboos at times would break and fell, posing a risk to pedestrians below.
