Life after Phoenix?

Hey guys n gals,

I've kind of hit a wall recently and struggling to find out what am I supposed to be focusing on.

I've got Phoenix 7 starred, on gear 8 right now, but I don't quite get any further with them.

What is the next team I should be working to get and gear up? I'd need a decent DS team I suppose.

If any of you have the time, please let me know what I should farm, who I should gear up, etc (if you could list each area, as in , GW shipments, arena shipments, hard nodes, cantina, etc, I'd be sooooo happy <3).

Also btw, is there some sort of guide for mods? I only found year old guides and I'm pretty much bamboozled about them.

Thank you guys!

  • Hello,

The above advice is very sound. There is a Youtuber that has a farming guide he calls the 4 pillars. Though, being 8 months old it is a bit dated, I think it provides a solid foundation for what to work on and in a specific order so that you can unlock and participate in the most content possible.

    The video is here: https://youtube.com/watch?v=a2_J_BwXSOY&t=167s

Mods could be an entire lengthy post of it's own, but here are a few tips.

    • The primary stat's max bonus is higher depending on the number of dots that are on the mod. Generally speaking don't waste your credits on anything under 4-dots.
    • The exception to the above is when you get a Speed primary on an arrow mod. Speed primaries ONLY happen on arrow mods, and even a 1-dot +17 speed arrow (at lvl 15) is useful.
    • Secondary stats are only added/increased at lvl 3, 6, 9, 12, and 15, so don't spend credits on a mod unless taking it to one of those levels.
    • Mods have to be showing all four secondaries before any of them actually increase. So a grey mod adds a secondary at lvl 3/6/9/12, and only increases a secondary at lvl 15. Generally I wouldn't spend credits to go to lvl 15 on a grey mod.
    • Green mods start adding to secondaries shown at lvl 12, blue at lvl 9, purple at lvl 6, and gold (as they always show all four secondaries) at lvl 3. Gold are, naturally, the best.
    • Speed, as a primary on the arrow mods or as a secondary elsewhere, is a great stat. The more you can get of that, the better.
    • If you open a character in your inventory, then go to "Manage" under the mods, and then from the basic mod screen tap the little "i" in a circle next to "tips" the screen will show you recommended mod sets as well as the recommended primary and secondary stats (and secondary/tertiary stats) to use for that character. This may or may not be the actual best, but it works great as a starting guide. YMMV.
    • You can slice mods, but I've never done it and don't really get it yet, so you're on your own there.
  • Work on what you like, that’s the easiest way to be happy.

For a DS squad. Typically folks swap to a thrawn ep Vader tie Tarkin squad after Phoenix, Largely because Phoenix gets you both ep and thrawn , vader from achievements and fleet, Tarkin Cuz you want to use his capital ship to start so you can get the fleet mat challenge beat. And tie cuz he is fast and useful in both arenas to start .
  • Phoenix is first, scoundrels are second, Empire third. You need to get your phoenix to gear 9 to unlock Palpatine and Thrawn. Also to complete TB missions.

I would recommend Stormtrooper Han, Boba Fett, Greedo, IG-88, Cad Bane as they are easy farms, and you will need Bounty Hunters later to get Chewie, for TB and galactic bounties, and you will need Stormtrooper Han for Comander Luke Skywalker later. Run Boba as your lead. You need scoundrels for droid and credit heists.

Now the Emipre team I would focus on is Emperor Palpatine, Thrawn, Grand Moff Tarkin, Darth Vader, Tie Fighter Pilot. Your Phoenix will get you both Palpatine and Thrawn two very useful toon and toons you don't have to farm shards for. Vader is useful at evry stage of the game, and has a great ship. Tarkin has the best newbie capital ship. And Tie fighter pilot Is fast and has a good ship. You need a solid empire team to unlock R2-D2.

First off, you might want to consider pushing your Phoenix to gear 9 before you sideline them. You definitely can get a 7* Thrawn and Palpatine with them at gear 8, but it will be very challenging (Thrawn especially) and require some prayers to RNGesus, hallowed be thy algorithm. At the very least I'd get Hera, Chopper and Ezra to 9 to save yourself some headaches.

The common wisdom after Phoenix is to work on the requirements for other legendaries and Hero Journeys, which means getting an Empire team for R2, a First Order team for BB8, and the other requirements for Commander Luke and Jedi Training Rey: Farmboy Luke, Princess Leia, Old Ben, Stormtrooper Han, Finn, Scavenger Rey, and Veteran Smuggler Han & Chewie.

You also def want a team of scoundrels for Credit/Droid Heists. Stormtrooper Han and Vet Han/Chewie are all Scoundrels, so they can pull double duty there if needed - and the vets are a pain to farm, so the sooner you get them out of the way, the better. SCOED already listed some other good options a couple posts up.

That's more than enough to keep you busy for a few months, if you want to go hard on legendaries. They are definitely worth it - Commander Luke is a beast on a huge variety of teams, and a Resistance team under JediRey can absolutely crush raids.

Also, if you haven't already, get into a guild that's farming at least Heroic Rancor. OG Han is a monster, and Rancor is kinda dated so even a relatively-low-GP guild shouldn't have too much trouble with it - one guy with a decently geared Commander Luke can solo the whole raid. AAT is nice too, though it's considerably tougher to complete.

Do keep in mind that there are a lot of characters available now as compared to when a lot of the guides were written, so you don't have to 100% follow the popular path to see a payoff. Ships, for instance, give you a whole extra arena and energy type for resource farming, and ship arena is generally much easier to compete in than squad arena. Bounty Hunters have also become a hugely useful faction in terms of the sheer amount of content they unlock.

Ultimately it's a game and the goal is to have fun, though. Sure, Ugnaught isn't very useful, but if you'll enjoy playing with him, go for it. Not everything has to be about min-maxing. Good luck.
  • there are many new teams to choose from imperial troopers justbfucked up my Jedi squad 543 squad not upgraded yet but damn I did even get a turn
