They gave me $20 back for a donuts purchase in November when I got locked out for weeks but the request was made at that point.
Same here, but in December when I bought Santa's Village and then couldn't play the game for the next 10 days. Apple refunded the purchase in about 2 hours.
To the OP... TSTO uses a "software as a service" model, so it is basically like asking for a refund of any other service. Would you ask your Internet provider for a refund after having service with them for 6 months because you got tired of the Internet? Or your cell phone provider because no one ever calls you? Of course not.
You received the service you paid for, regardless of whether you fully utilized them or not. Apple will not refund the amount you spent on a game you got tired of playing, just as they won't refund the price of an album you tired of listening to. Nor should they.
I think everyone is missing what he is saying. He doesn't want a refund because he is bored with the game. He wants a refund due to the frequent bugs and outages the game experiences. To be frank I'm not sure I blame him for that. When I pay for Internet, I expect that service to be available when I go to use it. If it only worked 6 times out of 10, then yeah, I would want some of my money back.
Nailed it.
