I suppose it's another of those things they're allegedly trying to do to slow down farmers... Like the Cecil tasks... If you've been playing a long time then you could probably earn enough per day to be able to afford them without too much worry..

Has anyone else tapped on the paint buckets above the crosswalk in a neighbors town? I've done it twice and both times it added a color stripe to the crosswalks. There is also what I would call an asterisk or shiny ball of light that appears below and to the left of the crosswalk.
I don't know if it does anything to or for them. It just seems strange for the two things to happen.
