I think a fair balance could work.

E.g. ea had a selection of items you could gift your friends. Without a benefit (no bonus multipliers) and they are un sellable and only trade once?

why in the heck would they steal your things when they can get theirs hacking???
who are you or any of the milions playing to them? Only people that pay for the things they get for free with no satisfaction of playing themself to get them (see people that already had yes guy or xmas cooling towers). There are "hackers" (more like crackers then hackers) that do that by opening up the game files and give us spoilers or insights so not all are bad arent they?
