This is only a trick to manipulate the AI. It's not designed to be like this. Maybe, hopefully someday they will assign tasks for this building. Until then this is just a home brew work around.

How is that eaier than storing Googleplex and placing it next to the remotely placed building?

i was kinda wondering the same thing.... especially if there is no space next to the building he's working in to place another building next to it.
