Have been noticing this for a while.
At one point I was able to mitigate the problem by simply moving up to more expensive mining (I was buying bloodmobiles, which at the time were giving me more than 1M XP, while the rat trap trucks were still giving me less than 1M each); but now there's nothing to buy that gives me less than 1M XP, so I'm bound to lose some of the bonus boxes.
It sucks, but, it still produces more donuts than I can possibly spend, so, I'm not complaining.
