Strange eating places!

So, my sims live in a lovely house with all the rooms they could wish for. They have a lovely breakfast bar in their kitchen, as well as a perfectly good dining table, all with comfy chairs. They also have chairs and sofa's in their living room should they wish to eat in front of the tv. So why, oh why, do they always choose to take their food out of the kitchen and sit on their bed in the bedroom to eat?? What's wrong with them!?? Does anyone else have sims that choose to ignore all socially acceptable eating locations, and eat in weird places by themselves instead?
  • ParmaViolet87 Haha, ewwwwwww!! :D That's so funny and gross!!

PapayaPancake Hehe, nope I don't have pets at the mo, but aww to your sims wanting to be near them!

Even when there's no one else around in the house they eat in the bedroom, and sometimes if they have guests for dinner sitting around the table, my sims are like, "I know I invited you round for food but see ya, I'm going to ignore all of you and eat in my room!" :# :D
  • Yes mine do it a lot. I think Sims tend to sit where other Sims are to have a chat.

I once saw one of mine eating on the toilet!

  • Do they have pets? My Sims tend to do the same sometimes, go all the way back upstairs with their breakfast to sit on the bed, next to their sleeping pet. :D

Another good question.... why do they have to carry their food from the perfectly nice kitchen and living room, across the house to the backyard and eat at the outside table during the thunderstorm they're afraid of? The toddler especially surprised me, because he was already very hungry at the time. Maybe he just wanted to be with his silly mother? On a more serious note, I think the lower their needs are the more likely they are to do something that makes no sense. The bedroom thing might be seeking company or wanting to be alone, depending.
  • TresaofPern Hmm, I'm going to test that theory about the lower the needs the more bizarre the behaviour! Mine haven't ventured into a thunderstorm to eat yet, but if I ever have an outside table, they definitely tend to eat outside no matter what :/
  • Same here! I have a really nice dining room table with very nice chairs, and they choose to either sit on the outside bench or on the sofa.
