Strange phenomenon in my town....anyone else???

I've had this since last night. I was moving a lot of my town around & it's that whole section that is now animated. Flags flying, butterflies flying, steel mill lit up. Flags & trees in other parts ...

It's happened in my town on occasion (usually it's El Chemistri that lights up and gets my attention), but I haven't noticed anything recently. When it has happened I think it's just one or two buildings. My pig roaster also seems to go off on its own on occasion. It just spins and spins - it's actually quite hypnotic.

EDIT: autocorrect got me again!
