I don't expect to get "donut rich" off the bonus levels, but they are a nice little treat. As for the raising the XP each time, seems to make sense. I hit my 4th and 5th bonus levels this morning after the compound finished. With the large amounts of XP each new building is giving it is basically like they come with donuts :-)
