I don't know if it's a glitch but I sent my whole town 2x for that task once without Bernice and then a second time with her in the task should have tried a third time to see if it would let me.

I just love doing these quests when there is that option - as many characters as possible doing the same task. Love all the thumbs! Had a few of those during the Christmas quests as well.
