Signal is information relating to the game.
Noise is information not relating to the game. That is not a judgment about whether it is enjoyable information for those discussing it.
Right now signal to noise is very low. It makes finding information about the game much more difficult. My primary reason in coming to the TSTO forum is to find and contribute information relevant to TSTO.
I would prefer to separate the on-topic game discussion from the off-topic non-game discussion. Off-topic sub-forums are quite common. They allow those who have found each other through a common interest to have discussions about other interests without degrading the signal of the original subject. They keep the community strong while maintaining the focus of the larger forum on the original subject, in this case TSTO.
There's a search function you know...
And this forum wouldn't work, take the FAQ part and look at how much of a mess that is. None of that is frequently asked questions.
And te results are 50:50, 8 people or something don't mae the fact they're practically equal not around, it's 104 to like 98, not a big deal.
