Can you become unfamous?

Apparently your fame can decay, not sure how quickly but there is a reward for the new aspiration to stop your fame from decaying.

I believe they said on the Livestream that it won't decay more than two levels

Well if you get to be super famous you kinda become legendary maybe that's why. :) But I'm glad it does decay.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. It’s not like JK Rowling, Beyoncé or people like that would get completely forgotten in real life.

Yes it does :( My sim got gold at one of his gigs and one fame point. He got his perk and after a while a quirk. But erm ... I guess Frederik hasn't really put in the effort he should've cause he lost his fame again (+ perk and quirk). Back to square (or star) one. Guess he'll have to start working at it a bit more :D But I love it, coz you could definitely create a struggling actor with this EP.

I'm just glad that it's not 'too easy' to become famous.

No I think that allows you to reuse your fame points in a different way (like that power reset drink for vampires). But I may be mistaken! You can lose fame quite simply by not doing anything that boosts it for a bit :)

this sounds so good. I'm not into fame generally but this makes me want to have a famous sim.

Yes it's really a lot better than how fame worked in TS3. I was a bit afraid but after around 10 hours play, I can confirm fame doesn't happen overnight and if you don't do gigs and stuff, it's actually quite hard xD plus it reverts back, which is cool too. I also like that you can sort of make the star you want in terms of gigs etc. Like you could only do music related stuff, only commercials, only romantic stuff, .. it's well done really :)

It just resets perks and gives the fame points back. However, when sim has no perks, they can step out of the spotlight (a button in the bottom left corner) which will remove all the fame, quirks, and fame points they have and make them unable to gain fame (untill you click on the same button, which is now called Step Into the Spotlight).

So yes, there are two ways to lose fame: By stepping out of the spotlight and letting it decay (the fame can only decay two levels).
