My goal became to get at least one character and one building by the end of the event and if i get more that's a bonus
got banana dictatorship this morning so now all i need is a character.
I will continue to try until the end and hope for the best but this event is kinda upsetting as i have completed every other event 100% without spending a single donut and this will be the first event i don't complete.
THAT is what is different about this event. It used to be that a few people had that experience, they'd get frustrated, and everyone felt bad but we all figured it was inevitable that some people have bad luck. This event differs in three ways
1. The "bad luck" in a previous event was in relation to a small element of the event ... a wheel, etc. There were other prizes that were within our control. The wheels made us crazy, but at least EVERYBODY had something significant to show at the end of the event. (Personal prizes, community prizes, etc.)
2. There are so many (!!!!) people this time that are having overall negative experiences.
3. We don't find out things that are damaging until after its too late. (e.g., that baskets are one-time, that baskets stop falling after we complete the quest, that not clearing out a town before harvesting carrots prevents carrot-bunnies from appearing.) I can't even imagine how someone not on the forums can know what's going on.
When an entire event is chance-based, it sucks. When an entire event is chance-based AND glitch-ridden, it sucks. When an entire event is chance-based, glitch-ridden AND has details written in the code that make it impossible to play "smart" to maximize our chances, it REALLY sucks.
Boom, Annette hits the nail on the head as usual.
I've actually had some decent luck, but I'm still growing bitter and angry about this event. I've always had something to show for all my tapping every day. But now it's about... one in four days I'm getting something worthwhile? And then I look around and see that I'm lucky to have that sort of success rate, and it just irks me off. And then the game dialogue points out how terrible it is, and I want to throw something. Something like eggs. I am so sick of eggs.
