I started out during Whacking Day, so I were in dire need of alot of friends. At that time I added alot of random people, and many randoms added me. I were in touch with some in regards of trading eggs, and others in the hope of getting some donations. And I must say, there is a lot of nice people here. Still there are many on my full friends list I have never spoken too, and some that didn't respond at all to my greetings. I even have a lot of "friends" with huge housefarms.
I even have some that I know are inactive, since they haven't leveled up in weeks.
Up until recently I visited everyone daily, but during vacation time, I haven't had the time (I'm more busy during vacation than otherwise ;) ). Now I only visit those I have been in touch with mostly daily, and the others only when I have the time and feel like it (that may be often enough once my vacation finishes).
If Krustyland don't require a lot of friends, I think I will finally start deleting quite a few, atleast the inactive ones. Funny enough I only have four friends from the forums on my friends list, but that kind of suits me, since I still am unable to decorate my town. I have just recently gotten all the free buildings, now I can finally concentrate on buying more land, and save up a little bit before the next update hits. My town isn't nice, it's quite ugly really, but I am trying to space my buildings a little bit atleast, but since so few people from the forums can see my town, I'm fine with that for now.
It's hard being a latecomer to this game, and trying to get even. So for those of you thinking some of us isn't trying, and therefore delete your friends after viewing their town once, keep in mind that when you are new to the game, it takes a lot of time to get to the point where you can concentrate on just decorating your town. I suppose most players prefer to get the buildings and characters as fast as possible first and foremost, then buying the land, and finally trying to beatify it... From scratch until you get to the point where you have enough cash to "waste" on decorations, it will take some months, maybe even half a year at this rate with updates, depending on how active you are...
I hear ya. I still don't have all the land (almost there) and it took me quite awhile to finally get to the point where I wasn't playing catch up. I'm usually understanding if someone has just started out playing and house farms or doesn't decorate because money is tight them, I know.
I have a confession to make. I sometimes lurk on the add me threads and add a few people here and there who say they are level 12 or below. I do that because I remember what it was like for those of us who came to game when it hit the App Store for the second time. All the add me threads kept saying only add me if your level 20 (top level at the time) and/or you have all the premiums. Just ask before you add is what we are saying. It really slows the game with pending friend requests.
And your right, with all the updates, it can be hard to catch up. You'll get there eventually. That's why a lot of us who have leveled up redecorate so much. We got time to kill between updates.
Seems you're quite nice towards players quite new to the game, but how many have accepted your request, and how many are still active? There's a reason why people did ask for top-level-players. But since I myself am fairly new to this game, I do like the fact that this community also have people like you on here, that give those new players a chance :)
For my own part I finally start to feel a little bit in control, since I own all the free buildings and some of the premiums. I make a decent amount of money daily, and am able to buy a few landslots now and again. I probably own a quarter of the available land, so I'm slowly getting there. Once I reached about half the slots, I believe I have space enough to start decorating a little... Unless Krustyland will need alot of attention first (and the need of my in-game cash, atleast in the beginning).
