I noticed when I visited my neighbors that I could tap on buckets too !! I hope I helped my neighbors in this way ;)

I suspect the buckets in neighbor towns are just a graphics glitch, but it is possible there's more...
...in past events, tapping these things accelerated their timers, so neighbors could collect earlier than expected. Idk if this is active at this time.
