Thoughts On Double-Haunting...

I keep hearing (reading) a lot of people complaining about, threatening to delete, etc. their neighbors because of this “double-haunting” garbage. I don’t get the big deal.

* “They’re stealing ~MY~ GOO!” – They’re stealing 2 GOO from you. Is this REALLY that big of a deal in the big picture? Considering that if you have a neighbor who has done this, the number of them is likely minimal, the amount of GOO that people are throwing a fuss about is minimal at best, and the most that they’re being affected is by 6 GOO per visit (once every 24 hrs.).

* “It’s selfish of them to take two and leave me with none!” – Considering that they’re taking about (at most) 6 GOO, if it happens to you, quit being stingy and selfish in your own right and just let it go. It’s really no big deal.

On top of all that, if you figure out who is doing it on a regular basis (I’ve done it once or twice by accident, as well as a couple times intentionally), it opens the door for you to return the favor. It seems to be forgotten that this is a two-way street. You are just as capable of returning the favor as you are of just outright deleting them. Why short yourself a friend when you can just take back the GOO that they “stole” from you that got your panties in a wad to begin with?!

Personally I could care less if I get double haunted or not. The option was put there for a reason. I don't do it because it bothers others

2,000 isn't going to cut it if want to have enough by the end.

sure it is cause as we move forward we get more stuff to earn more goo and we earn it faster
  • If it was that big a deal, the update would have removed it, just saying

You can't compare EAs needs to our needs.

Then why don't you stop whining to the player base, the majority of whom aren't even aware this forum exists, and get onto EA about why they saw fit to put in such a heinous feature.

And I'm STILL unconvinced that double haunting=goo stealing. Why do I sometimes get 'Haunted by the Ghosts' when I click on buildings in my own SF? Hmmm?

Except that they are clearly making a statement that they WANT it to be a feature and the WANT people to use it/do it. I mean, they fixed the glitch of stealing boardwalk tiles back in the beginning of squidport. They left this as a feature in the update today so it's part of the game. It's part of the way you are supposed to play.

EA only care when their programming affects them. They'll let glitches and other negative things affect you for the entirety of the game.

Well, in all fairness, how does the added couple of ghosts per town affect the programmers? They're not losing money on the deal...the prizes are free.
It's a part of the game. It's obviously one they intend to keep in, or it would have been remedied with one of the many recent updates. We had no problem taking advantage of extra ghosts...why not make a game out of it and use this one as well?

Jeez! Add me! I have room for more neighbors. If you add me, go nuts! Double haunt all day! Just as long as you know I will do the same back. My Origin name is AlterBlackbird79
  • I just use the in-game technique to limit my friends' ability to double-haunt - I play often. 8)
  • Agree. I think there are a few things people are forgetting
    1. Not everyone reads the forum regularly, if at all. I, for one, did not realize that double haunting removed the goo until after I hit 1k. Honest mistake, and I don't do it anymore.

    2. If the potential loss of XX goo a day is that make it or break it, log in more frequently and clear your houses. If you're going to take the game that seriously, take the game that seriously.

    3. I am skeptical that the community goals are really linked to actual goo. If so, the totals are going to taper off at least somewhat after more people reach 1k.

    4. Double haunt back. Its an option.
  • I hope EA gives an update sometime this month and mocks those who complain about double-hauntings.
  • It's a game. With games comes strategy. Every game has one or more.

I invite my friends to double haunt my buildings! Go ahead because that's one of the strategies! I'll just double haunt you back!

Dodgeball wouldn't be dodgeball if you didn't hit somebody.

If any of you are my friends and dislike this, go ahead and delete me. Any of you who don't give a rats behind and want to play the game how it's made to be played, I'm here. :)
