Treehouse horror: won’t let me continue the challenges started

Anyone having issues with the treehouse horror special event?? Doesn’t let me collect any syringes/dna etc since the event finished even though they still live since I started? Can do the tasks but it...

Events used to have a countdown timer, and once the timer hit zero, there was no further accumulation of event currency. Was there an in game timer for this event? Was there an event end date and time declared somwhere in game? If not you may have a case w EA
