Actually it's a profit based game for ea designed to make them $$. Some content of the game is free that doesn't make it a free game.
+1, could not describe it better.vic147 wrote:

Sorry but no, it's not a free game, nothing in life is free.
I haven't spent much at all on this game yet (short on money) but you can indeed have fun without paying for anything. You can just have more fun paying. My only problem is that I think the donuts are a bit expensive, and will only buy them when they're on sale.Ningyo42 wrote:

Sorry again but no, I've spent on this game alone over 2 thousand dollars.
1 all the premium content ( I know it's optional, and not necessary to run the game)
2 when all the lagging, crashing, connection issues began (almost at the beginning of the game)
i was playing on an older iPad, so I had to fork over a thousand dollars just to continue playing
THIS game. All my other games, programs worked smoothly, except TSTO
3 internet connection is not free. ( I live in Mexico City, the price for monthly internet alone cost 80 bucks
a month)panopticnic wrote:

Argh! That doesn't make it a free game. I can play tones of games for free when I dl demos that doesn't make them free freakin games. It makes them have free content designed to make you purchase more.
This game is far beyond a demo. Your logic is ridiculous.
No it's not, as soon as there are $ attached to a game it's not free. This is not a free game.
wow all that tenacity just to hear you're right?
man come on everybody has his own opinion, we heard your so let's move on......
if all you want to hear is that you are right, here it is you are right..... happy???

Please tell me you're rich. Why the flying F would you spend 2 grand on a cell phone game?
No I'm not rich, I have a pretty decent job, don't have kids.
But I will say this:
I love the Simpsons, I'm a big fan, grew with them.
I owe this game a lot, when I started playing I was recuperating from a major accident, spent 3 months hospitalized
lots of surgeries and 6 more months on a wheel chair, and this game kept me sane though rehabilitation, when I could not play anymore (When they stopped supporting first versions do iOS devices) I had no choice but to spend that amount on a new device, To be used solely to play TSTO.
The other amount has been spent over the curse of almost 2 years of playing the game.- In before probable lock and/or deletion. Me be the voice of reason? That's unpossible. Here's my two cents, since this thread has degenerated into a debate over freemium/premium as opposed to the quality of recent content. I personally feel the quality of the content, while having a few decent points, is on a downward spiral. At least we haven't had to deal with a fricken' wheel lately! As for the whole money thing, look at it this way: Say I buy a console or PC game the day it comes out. Months down the road, when I have beaten said game and it's collecting dust on a shelf somewhere, they release DLC, or an expansion, or some kind of additional content. Am I obligated to buy said content? No. Does it change the fact I (presumably) had fun playing the game? No. That, for me is the distinction between free, freemium, and premium. Origin had Peggle as an On The House, so I downloaded it. There's no extra content to purchase. Therefore, it is a free game. I play Tapped Out. I can buy extra stuff for it, but don't HAVE to in order to play the game. Hence, freemium. I go out and buy a console, peripherals, a game, and then later DLC(even if I don't need the DLC to complete the game), that girls and boys is what I call premium. To sum it all up, I'm gonna keep playing whether I can afford donuts or not, and the only thing that really cheeses me off is that they continue to re-release items that were previously free or cost in game cash, as premium items. Another desperate cash grab from your friends at EA! For crying out loud, EA, RELEASE THEM AT THEIR ORIGINAL COST! I will apologize for the wall of text, but not for the caps lock rage. That is my axe to grind. TL;DR Content going generally downhill, TSTO is a freemium game, and EA needs to stop re-releasing previously free stuff for real world money.

-stonecutters update: fun but didn't add much
What the hell happened to this game?!?!
Are you joking?
Stonecutter Lodge
Stonecutter Daycare
Stonecutter Table
Devil's Anvil
Ark of the Stone Covenant
Stone of Triumph
Sacred Parchment
Hieroglyph wall
Twisty Slide
Number One
skins for more characters than I care to type with associated new tasks
And that's just the free stuff we got...
We may have our differences but i'm 100% going to agree with you about the Stonecutters event, that was one of the best ever in TSTO history. Everything was SC related, no random stuff all over the place. The premium items were well priced as well (except for a couple which were a tadd steep, but worth it to have the complete event package in the game). The free stuff was immense. It was everything players liked about events and no wheel of chance etc. Defo best event ever
Well I'm glad we agree on something. :) I don't mind the chance stuff actually, but the Easter event did take it way too far. To me, the recent updates are way better than the Valentine's/Easter stretch we had in the Spring.waxves_ wrote:
I bet the people who didnt like this krustyland update are the type of people to complain when a SPRINGFIELD update has little /or bad content
There are definitely some players who think that we should be getting tons of free and quality content every week, and when we don't, it's the greatest crime humanity has ever known.panopticnic wrote:
Again, it's not a free game. Second, it's not about entitlement it's about product purchasing. EA has a history of suck. There are entire memes made up designed around EA not listening to their customers.
KL is boring, this is a terrible update.
No point in arguing with these people. They are set with their opinions like we are set with ours. This forum has a funny way of twisting definition of words to put others down.
People just fail to realize that a players should feel entitled to some basic game needs which lately has been neglected. If a person is a paying costumer this is more so.- Meanwhile family guy is storming ahead
