Visiting friends, worth it?

Folks are, of course, free to play this game however they chose. Personally, if I'm going to accept someone as a neighbor, I feel an obligation to try and visit them once a day (or at least once every other day). On the flip side of that coin, if I find that one of my neighbors is going for long periods without visiting my town, I'll drop them without feeling much guilt.

I agree on both accounts. Even when there's no event, vandalizing your neighbors, and them vandalizing you, helps to keep your numbers up. Granted, it can be tough to find good neighbors. Like KB, since you can only have a set number of neighbors, I'll drop friends if they don't visit in a while.
