I really haven't been visiting my friends much this update. Why? Because the gold/elixir payout for attacking random strangers/invaders is higher than attacking my friends.

This is true, but most of my neighbours me included, do both. I have some great neighbours, and I like to be a good neighbour to.
But each to their own.
