I'm a huge fan of Edward Hopper. His painting, Nighthawks, was the inspiration for this diner. Unfortunately, TSTO recently changed the building in the game. They dimmed the original bright golden window lighting when the building is in use. They "refined" it to blend "better" now.

I don't have a screencapof the old version, so can't show the comparison of the two without stealing a screencap from another forum.

But as you can see from Hopper's painting, the bright interior was crucial. It showed the isolation of people under artificial, almost garish man-made lights. The contrast in his work is meant to be stark. I hope TSTO changes it back.

Donuts are precious to freemium players like me...but I decided that 90 donuts for a cool building and a good character from one of the best episodes was a good deal. So Rex Banner and the Nighthawk Diner are part of my town now!

2nd premium purchase after Brandine (good character and 3 walking decorations also seemed like a good deal).

I had Rex from last year, but I picked up Lincoln after missing him the first 2 times.

I myself like him. He has a task outside, but not his 24. His normal character spends all his time at the KM, but I'm sure that's true to the show.

It is also nice having him so you don't accidentally put him on a 7 day task while reassigning your people when you are in a hurry.

Got them both today as I had passed them up back in my more freemium days. Happy to finally have them in my town!

Agreed I don't know what EA was thinking when they dimmed the lighting. :evil: I already had the dinner but I got Lincoln.
